A Gold Emerald & Diamond Heart Shape Keywind Cylinder Full Hunter Pendant Watch C1840
Dial: The super white enamel dial with Roman numerals outer minute track with fine original blue steel Breguet moon hands. The dial is surrounded with a heart shape gold border.
Case: This wonderful 18ct yellow gold heart shape case, beautifully engraved, set with a lovely emerald, surrounded with nine old cut diamonds to the front cover. The rear cover is also beautifully engraved with a garland of flowers surrounding a vacant cartouche. The front cover opens to reveal the dial when the pendant is depressed. The inner cover is engraved with the word Geneve with an explanation stating that the movement has a cylinder escapement and an arrow showing which way to wind the watch.
Movement: The simplistic keywind cylinder four bridge movement with flat balance and fast slow regulation. This type of movement was widely used in this period for these types of watches.
This pocket watch is indeed important and very rare because of the pristine condition this watch is in. The size of the emerald is nearly two carats and there are over a carat of good quality old cut diamonds that surround the Emerald which is set to the front cover of this watch.
